Raising money for fun!

Saturday 8 August 2015 saw the first ever Permadoor Family Fun Day, which proved a great success and also raised valuable funds for Cancer Research UK.

Held at The Plough and Harrow Inn in Malvern, on one of the sunniest days of the year so far, the event was a huge success, with well over 100 employees and family attending. The main highlight of the day was the inaugural Permadoor mini Olympics, with over 20 teams pitting their skills against each other in various ‘athletic events’ – perhaps not ones you would normally expect to see in the real Olympics!

There was entertainment for all the family on the day. A bouncy castle was the main attraction for the kids, and a card magician weaved his magic in front of a bemused and amazed audience.

Another very popular event – for quite obvious reasons – was the ‘Soak the Manager’ stall. It seemed like a great opportunity for anyone wanting to get rid of those stresses built up over the year, to relieve them by giving the managers a real soaking! Bal Koura and Steve Walden made great targets, putting their heads on the block for their colleagues to aim at. Needless to say, everyone got their money’s worth, and the managers soaked it all up in good humour – obviously not dry humour, though!

The main point was that it was a great day with lots of fun and laughter, because the major purpose of the day was to thank Permadoor employees for all their hard work over the year, with fun that all the family could join in with and enjoy.

The other purpose was to help raise vital money for Cancer Research UK and a very creditable total of £245 was raised on the day. We would like to thank everyone at Permadoor for their generosity and we look forward to many more Fun Days in the future.
