Social housing providers will have the opportunity to see first-hand the comprehensive range of products and services offered by specialist composite door manufacturer and supplier Permadoor at this year’s Chartered Institute of Housing Exhibition.
Specialising in the supply of made-to-measure, low maintenance exterior entrance doors, Permadoor has more than 16 years of sector experience, bringing unparalleled support and expertise to social housing refurbishment and new build projects. Offering the social housing sector the UK’s widest range of thermoplastic and GRP doors and an early pioneer of partnering, the Permadoor offer also includes a comprehensive contract management service.
Adrian Wyatt, sales director explains: “Permadoor has, spent the last decade not only investing in its operation, in its plant, equipment, machinery but in the service and support we offer to our customers. Our products are at the cutting edge of performance; low maintenance, thermally efficient and environmentally friendly but we also pride ourselves on delivering exceptional service and support. We have embraced partnering to drive huge efficiencies, deliver better designed and fitted products and to give tenants new involvement and opportunity to contribute to the design and maintenance of their homes. Moving forward we remain fully committed to working with local authorities, RSL’s, ALMO’s and not least residents, to ensure that projects are delivered to fully meet the needs of those they serve.”
As part of company’s ongoing commitment to improve the efficiency and sustainability of its operation, Permadoor recently secured ISO 14001. Through the application process Permadoor identified a number opportunities to reduce the amount of waste it generates. This included expanding existing paper and cardboard recycling facilities to segregate wood and plastic off cuts. Permadoor has also invested in new fully automated shrink wrapping equipment to elimininate cardboard waste and in new bailing equipment to facility more effective recycling of polythene.
Closing the loop on the process, the waste and off-cut PVC-U generated by the production process is recycled by Permadoor and used in frame reinforcement and edge-capping. Permadoor has also carried out a full review of its energy use and is currently working with the Carbon Trust to reduce its consumption.
Adrian says: “Good partner suppliers are working with the social housing sector and residents to create new and more sustainable communities. The success of this relies heavily on not just on the quality of products but on the expertise and support with which they are delivered.”
Permadoor will be showcasing its range and service offer at Stand 162 in Hall C, at the Chartered Institute of Housing Exhibition running from the 9th to the 21st June in Harrogate.
